  1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the CompetifyHub website, programs, and services, including the Research Equipment Lending Library (RELL) and any competition resources, guides, or materials CompetifyHub provides. By accessing our website or participating in our programs, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

CompetifyHub is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. These Terms apply to students, parents and guardians, teachers, school administrators, volunteers, donors, and any other visitors to our website or participants in our programs.

  1. WHO WE ARE

CompetifyHub provides free math and STEM competition resources and operates the Research Equipment Lending Library, which places research equipment at host schools for use by students under the supervision of a teacher sponsor. Our programs are offered at no cost to participating students and schools unless otherwise stated.

  1. ELIGIBILITY

Our programs are primarily designed for middle school and high school students. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf, and in most cases must provide written consent before you participate in any in-person program, including the equipment lending library.

Teachers and school administrators who participate as hosts or sponsors confirm they have the authority to do so on behalf of their school.

  1. RESEARCH EQUIPMENT LENDING LIBRARY (RELL)

4.1 Program structure. RELL equipment is placed at a host school with a designated teacher sponsor who supervises its use. CompetifyHub does not directly supervise students using RELL equipment. Supervision, safety, and day-to-day use of equipment is the responsibility of the host school and the teacher sponsor.

4.2 Care of equipment. Host schools, teacher sponsors, and student co-leaders agree to use RELL equipment only for its intended educational and research purposes, to store it securely, and to report any loss, theft, or damage to CompetifyHub promptly.

4.3 No warranty on equipment. Equipment is lent “as is.” CompetifyHub makes no guarantee that equipment will be free of defects or fit for every intended experiment. Host schools and users are responsible for inspecting equipment before use and following manufacturer safety guidelines.

4.4 Return of equipment. Equipment remains the property of CompetifyHub (or its funding partners, where applicable) and must be returned or transferred according to the terms agreed with the host school.

  1. COMPETITION RESOURCES AND MATERIALS

Guides, worksheets, templates, and other resources made available by CompetifyHub are provided for personal, noncommercial educational use. You may not resell, license, or redistribute our materials for commercial purposes without our written permission.

  1. USER CONDUCT

When using our website or participating in our programs, you agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information in any application, survey, or form
  • Use our resources or equipment for any unlawful purpose
  • Interfere with or disrupt our website, programs, or other participants
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with CompetifyHub
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other students, volunteers, or staff

CompetifyHub reserves the right to remove any participant or volunteer from a program for violating these Terms.

  1. VOLUNTEERS

Individuals who volunteer with CompetifyHub do so without expectation of compensation. Volunteers agree to follow CompetifyHub’s guidelines and any applicable school policies while representing the organization. Volunteering does not create an employment relationship with CompetifyHub.

  1. DONATIONS

Donations to CompetifyHub, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are generally tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. CompetifyHub will provide donation receipts upon request. Donations are non-refundable except where required by law.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The CompetifyHub name, logo, and original program materials are the property of CompetifyHub. You may not use our name or logo to imply endorsement of your own products, services, or organization without our written permission.

If you submit content to us, such as testimonials, survey responses, or photos, you grant CompetifyHub a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for program reporting, grant applications, and promotional purposes, unless you tell us otherwise in writing.

  1. PRIVACY

Our collection and use of personal information, including information collected through applications, surveys, and program registration, is described in our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree to that Privacy Policy.

  1. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

CompetifyHub’s website, resources, and programs are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that our resources will be error-free, that our website will be uninterrupted, or that participation in our programs will lead to any particular competition outcome, award, or result.

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CompetifyHub, its founders, staff, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website, resources, equipment, or participation in our programs. This includes, without limitation, damages related to equipment malfunction, personal injury during program activities, or reliance on program materials, except where such liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Delaware law.

  1. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CompetifyHub and its founders, staff, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of our equipment, resources, or website.

  1. SCHOOL AND HOST AGREEMENTS

Where a host school, teacher sponsor, or administrator enters into a separate written agreement with CompetifyHub for the placement of RELL equipment or another program, the terms of that agreement govern in the event of a conflict with this general Terms of Service.

  1. TERMINATION

CompetifyHub may suspend or terminate your access to our website or programs at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or that we believe is harmful to other users, students, or the organization.

  1. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on our website with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of our website or programs after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

  1. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
